Mentalmath

EXPERIENCE: Mentalmath began playing Vanilla in 2004, and exclusively took a PvP oriented focus in his playing experience. Although Mentalmath never engaged in raid content during the days of vanilla World of Warcraft, he spent the following years studying raiding metagame and strategy over the years across various private servers. At the start of Classic, he took up the challenge with the intention of killing every single raid boss and competing to the highest of his capability in that time.

LEADERSHIP: Mentalmath’s leadership began within Classic WoW, where he has spent much of the last year in an officer role. Preparation, concentration, and execution are the pillars of his gameplay. Every week is an opportunity to push the limits of his class. Mentalmath primarily focuses on log analysis, as well as using metagame strategies in order to boost the output of his fellow caster DPS raiders.

Loot rules

Afterlife uses a player driven loot priority system.

we base our loot council item decisions on the three following factors:

Performance

  • Performance evaluation includes your ability to play your role (Tank, Heal or DPS) and also your out of raid activity such as world buffing preparation.

  • From Council’s perspective, loot distribution is done for the long term benefit of the raid, and making the most of each drop. Mechanics such as ‘not standing in fire’, but also dispelling on fights where your class can, is regarded favorably for performance evaluation.

Attendance

  • Players must maintain 75%+ 30-Day Raid Attendance to be eligible for loot consideration.

  • One excused absence (72 Hour Notice) is allowed per 30-Day Schedule.

  • No-Shows automatically disqualify raiders from loot consideration for the next Raid.

Loot History

  • Previous loot history is considered for tie-breakers, or for those overdue to receive an item.

  • Offset or greed rolls are not held against primary loot, Council prefers to give items to players than to disenchant.

  • Sometimes set bonuses provide enormous raid buffs in which case it becomes advantageous to funnel gear and get the bonus for the raid. Officers will from time to time call a class meeting to discuss which items are still needed and who is going to be gearing/spec’ing in certain ways, on a case by case basis.
